PARENTS

After reading the article 'I know what you did Last Math Class" by Jan Hoffman It really gave me a sense of how much our parents and relationships between them and there kids are becoming easier to find out about and be much more open. I never knew about these websites on how well children are doign in classes are they skipping and how well there doing ibn classes, it just seems a little too free and unrealistic. I think that as a high school student at John Jay High School, it doesn't feel right for a parent to just barge into a childs life, and yes i know some children are aware that the parent is doing this, but it could have to do with a parent forcing the child to do this. In some areas like cities and other more violent capable schools, i do somewhat agree that this method could help with alot of families and there relationships with their kids. I think that it would let the parents be more aware of what there children are doing, because usually in those areas it is not as much as a open relationship between the two people. So overall i think that this method could help in some areas, but in others could cause more problems by budding in to a child who was doign fine but now is stressed.

GLOBAL WARMING

There are many things in a world that are making it be too warm. Here are a few things that indicate that the world is getting warmer, one is the ice glaciers in antartica breaking off and falling in to the water. Another is the pennisula on antartica that was said to maybe melt in about a century and actually started to melt in only about a year. Also many glaciers have started to split into two glaciers and have polar bears straded on floating ice, and then dying. Also the levels of sea water in the different oceans has increased much over the years showing that more ice has melted into the sea from warming. Another indication of global warming is the amount of areas in the world, more inland, that ahve now become desertificated.The earth is getting much warmer over the years because the excessive amount of fossil fuels being used and the amount of Co2 being trapped and stored in our atmosphere by different chemicals that humans have produced. This increase in global warming will cause many different things to happen. Including the high increase of Co2 which will uneven the balance of Co2 and oxygen in our atmosphere. Sea levels will rise which coudl cause whole cities under water. And also cause many animals and species to die out because of the huge impact of warmth in the air. Some ways that we coudl help try to fix this problem could be taking more attention to where you live. We could start to take advantage of recycling, not use as many fuels that can pollute the air and use things that are more easy going for the enviroment.

In Tokoyo, Japan the 10 best-selling novels, were cellphone novels with a love story invovled. Cellphone novelists are rackign up the kind of sales that some many people only dream of. A 21 year old year, named Rin used her cellphoen to create a novel and is now turned into a 142 page hard cover book and No.5 best-selling novel of 2007. Cellphone novels started in 2000 but it really began to boom in 2004-2005. Last year the number of novels that appeared on a perticular site got up to 1 million this year. The largest provider, Docomo, began offering this service in mid-2004. But becuase of thsi constant use of the cellphone, the bills were becoming as high $1,000,these high expenses have slowed down the amount of novels though. The cellphones were tools that desired peopel to write and to do something that they might not of thought they would do.

Mr. Yang has become the co-founder of yahoo. And he wants to change the program to have it connect to some outside connections beyond the inside applications that it has. It will supposedly help money income. Right now yahoo remains the most popular property on the web, but that can change. Mr. Yang wants to transform yahoo into a powerful communication hub. He wants to take some similar ideas of facebook and others to include in the changes made to Yahoo. Some other challenges after changing all the necessary things, yahoo also has to deal with having better advertisement then Google. Which will be very hard since Google, in only a year has taken the 22 million visitors of yahoo to 5 million. Yahoo is loosing so many also due to the new generation who uses more search engines and social networks A yahoo chairman said that yahoo has to offer instant messaging, e-mail, news maps and also other content and services that may interest the new generation. In the fall of 2006 yahoo, an effort towards making it available to everyone began. One of the changes of yahoo was link outs. When yahoo used these on a real estate page they received 96 million visitors in November, more than any page on the internet. They are also trying to add more interesting things on the main page of yahoo that will draw the user in. The changes started to work the visitors for the first page increased by 6 million people in the last year. All these changes and modifications to yahoo have either been successful or not hat far away from being completed.
I think that this plan will start to help yahoo alot but i think with the new networks coming out like the one created by Mark Zuckerberg which was facebook, it will becoem a hard challenge. I think the help of having others contribute to the facebook webpage will help it be up to date with new and exciting things.

Place of Creativity

When i try to be creative i have to be very concentrated on what i am doing. It is easier to be creative when the topic is soemthing new to me, and makes me think abotu what it is i am actually do. When i take notes they arent very helpful at that tiem and place but later on i usually go back to them and use them for guidlines.

From Fustration to Learning

Throughout 2007 i have had alot of troubles with html coding while trying to make even a simple table. Though i have had alot of help with the notes that i take which i can go back to at any time. They help when i have no idea what im doing and no one is there to help me or guide me in the right direction. Most of the time if i get stuck in a horrible situation i start to scream in my head which gets alot of my fustration out and then i go back to my notes and try to solve it.

WEB TUTORIALS

After watching the web tutorials I began to relize how simple creating a webpage really is. He went through teh steps very slow and with not too much detail but just enough to know how to make a basic webpage. I also learnd that em makes teh words italic which i did not know before. I thought he was smart for first showing you the actual code for the parts of teh webpage and the showed what they the codes look like on the actual html webpage.
